The Women’s International Football Tournament, held from 11 to 13 February 2024, served as a momentous occasion uniting approximately 80 female football players from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Organized by the Sports Lab Center in collaboration with the Qatar Foundation and Qatar Women’s Sports Committee, this tournament marked the second edition of the SL region-wide female tournament in Qatar.
Integral to the Women’s Initiative Season-3, an overarching endeavor led by Qatar Foundation and Generation Amazing, this tournament exemplified Qatar’s commitment to nurturing the development of women’s football. It aimed to establish a lasting and socially impactful legacy following the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, highlighting Qatar’s dedication to advancing female sports participation, especially during the Horticultural Expo 2023.
The tournament reached its climax at the prestigious Education City Stadium, where the final match captivated the audience, showcasing the remarkable talent and passion of women’s football.
Representatives from four GCC countries—Super Soccer Team (Bahrain), Sports Lab Team (Qatar), Aloyoun Sport Center (Kuwait), and Legends United (Saudi Arabia)—engaged in spirited competition throughout the event. Super Soccer demonstrated outstanding performance, securing the 1st place, while Sports Lab earned the 2nd place, and Aloyoun Sport Center claimed the 3rd Place spot.
