On March 8th, 2024, the Sport Lab team secured the championship title in the inaugural girls’ Basketball league by triumphing over Hoops Al-Shamal with a score of 53/46.
Seven teams participated in this league: Amna Bint Wahab School, Pro Sport, Fame Sports Academy, Hoops Al Shamal, Al Multaqa, Entertainment Center, and Sports Lab. The competition unfolded in two stages within a single group.
The final match between Sport Lab and Hoops Al-Shamal was marked by intense rivalry and fierce competition, with the outcome remaining uncertain until the final minutes.
These women’s league competitions were organized as part of the Qatar Basketball Association’s comprehensive plan to bolster support for women’s basketball. The association aims to prepare female players for upcoming tournaments and elevate the technical standards of the game. Collaboration with the Women’s Committee underscores the commitment to forming a strong women’s team capable of competing internationally. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to enhance the overall development of women’s basketball.
Representatives from four GCC countries—Super Soccer Team (Bahrain), Sports Lab Team (Qatar), Aloyoun Sport Center (Kuwait), and Legends United (Saudi Arabia)—engaged in spirited competition throughout the event. Super Soccer demonstrated outstanding performance, securing the 1st place, while Sports Lab earned the 2nd place, and Aloyoun Sport Center claimed the 3rd Place spot.
